IASA: Call for IASA Executive Council Nominations

The Elections Committee is soliciting nominations and self-nominations for the following five Executive Council member positions:

Jessica Femiani's seat
Chiara Mazzucchelli's seat
Joey Nicoletti's seat
John Paul Russo's seat
Anthony Julian Tamburri's seat

To qualify for a Council member position, the candidate must have been a member of the IASA for minimally two years. The term for which members shall be elected is two years. The term for those elected in 2015 begins in January of 2016. You are required to attend the spring meetings held at the Calandra Institute in May as well as the annual meeting (Long Beach, CA in 2016 and Washington, DC in 2017) in October or November.

If you would like to nominate someone, please check with the person first to make sure that she or he would like to run for the Council. All nominations and self-nominations should be sent to the Elections Committee Chair, Nicole Santalucia, by Friday, November 6, 2015, at: nmsantalucia@ship.edu

Please include a short bio (no more than 100 words) in which the candidate highlights his or her main accomplishments in the field of Italian American Studies, his or her involvement with the IASA, and his or her projected contribution as an IASA Executive Council member.

The Elections Committee will set up a ballot to allow members to cast their votes during late November.

The new Council members will take office in January.
