    The Queens College English Department invites applications for a full-time lecturer, teaching primarily in our First Year Writing program, with some general education and upper-level writing classes. Workload: 27 hours/year, with up to 12 hours/year reassigned for administration of First Year Writing. Begins Fall 2016.

    Required: Bachelor's degree in English or composition/rhetoric, and the ability to teach successfully. Preferred: Completed master’s degree and additional graduate work in English, composition/rhetoric, or closely related field; at least two years college teaching experience in first year writing; evidence of teaching excellence; experience with course development and administration of first year writing, including instructor training and assessment; sufficient background in the theory/practice of writing pedagogy to provide intellectual leadership; ability to teach general education courses.

Reporting directly to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Deputy Director is responsible for overseeing the transfer evaluation process which includes evaluation international transcripts.

    Responsibilities include: attending recruitment events; assist with tuition determination process (residency); rule writing for transfer credits in CUNYfirst; counseling students; attending meetings and other responsibilities when the Director of Undergraduate is not available; and other duties as assigned. Some evening and weekend work required.

    Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Masters Preferred) and 6 years related experience; college recruitment experience and excellent communications skills.
